Merry Tiller Clinton Engine. I have now been given two merry tiller chassis (thanks phil murrell and james manley), which have both turned out to be professional models. Mine has steel wheels with flat spikes on them and a clinton engine. This tiller was going to be sent to scrap metal, but i noticed it in a pile of metal at my work. Hi, i have just aquired a merry tiller professional with said engine. The engine is painted red with merry tiller in white on the gas. There is a clinton service and maintenance manual (revised 1978) in the vhgmc archive which contains service data and parts. This merry tiller is almost. Serial numbers for these machines start at mt.20,000 for the major and mtp.5,000 for the professional which was fitted with a larger (clinton) engine. Took a little but i worked hard to get it. Following the sad demise of my mountfield m1, with the tie bar sheared off within the worm gear casing, which i am currently. Is there anyone out there that specialises in these engines as i need some spares to get it up and running. These had clinton longlife 900.
